Our Story
For over 30 years, SAGIPER has been dedicated to creating architectural building products that stand the test of time. Established in 1994, our journey began with a clear vision to redefine modern building materials through performance, durability, and design integrity. Today, SAGIPER continues to support architects and builders worldwide with systems engineered for lasting impact.
SAGIPER is the pioneer of dual wall, heavy gauge, fire rated high performance polymer siding, soffits, and ceiling systems. Emerging from the European market in 1994, we helped revolutionize the construction and renovation industry by introducing architectural PVC solutions that combined advanced fire performance with durability and refined aesthetics. Three decades later, innovation remains at the core of everything we manufacture.

The Beginning
SAGIPER was founded in Vagos, Portugal by Aderito Santos, marking the start of a new approach to architectural PVC building products. That same year, the original SAGIREV 4” profile was introduced, setting the foundation for a product line built on durability and design.

2002
Advancing Material Innovation
SAGIPER became an early adopter of wrapping PVC extrusions with architectural films, expanding design possibilities while maintaining long term performance.

2006–2008
Expanding the SAGIREV System
The SAGIREV product line continued to grow with the launch of the 6” profile in 2006 and the 8” profile in 2008, offering architects greater flexibility in scale and application.

Discovery of SAGIPER
While vacationing in Portugal, Managing Partner Mitch Freire discovered SAGIPER, recognizing its potential to transform architectural cladding in North America.

2011
Entering North America
The first 20 foot container of SAGIPER products arrived in North America on August 13, 2011, followed shortly by the company’s first residential project. The first distributor partnership was established in Edmonton, Alberta, with inventory initially stored in a single 40 foot container that served as the company’s first warehouse.

Growth and Product Expansion
As demand increased, a second 40 foot container was added to support inventory growth. That same year marked the development and launch of the SAGIWALL cladding system, a milestone product that would become a cornerstone of SAGIPER’s architectural offering.

2014
SAGIPER North America
SAGIPER NORTH AMERICA was established as an independent sales and distribution division to support the growing Canadian and U.S. markets. Mitch and Matt both left their full time careers to focus entirely on building the business. The first brick and mortar warehouse opened in 2014.

2018
A New Home in Edmonton
SAGIPER moved into a 30,000 sqft dedicated distribution facility in Edmonton, Alberta, strengthening logistics and service capabilities across Canada.

25 Years of SAGIPER Portugal
SAGIPER Portugal celebrated its 25 year anniversary, marking a quarter century of manufacturing excellence and innovation.

2024
Expanding Across North America
SAGIPER opened its second North American distribution center in Plant City, Florida to better serve the U.S. market. This year also marked the launch of several new architectural systems, including SAGIBATTEN woodgrain aluminum battens, SAGISCREEN railing and privacy screens, and SAGIBOND ACM panels into the North American market.
